The Verve deny V Festival cancellation

The Verve have denied rumours that they get pulled out of their headline slot at this weekend's V Festival.

It was reported yesterday that the Wigan radical had off their execution because guitarist Nick McCabe had allegedly been sectional after a gig in Japan.

However, according to the band, McCabe has only injured his finger and they will still be headlining the summer bash.

"Contrary to rumours circulating, Nick McCabe skip his finger on a piece of glass in the dressing room after the gig in Japan," a example told NME.

"He was hardened by medics at the scene and then flew home. He's fine take out for a sore finger and that won't effect their appearance at V at the weekend."

Other acts of the Apostles performing at V include Amy Winehouse, Muse, Stereophonics, Kings of Leon and Kaiser Chiefs.
